GeoFoam is an expanded polystyrene (EPS) geofoam used as a lightweight fill material in geotechnical applications to minimize stress on underlying or adjacent soils and structures. Compared to traditional earth fill materials, which are over 100 times heavier, GeoFoam reduces the risk of settlement, erosion, and soil instability over time. For over 55 years, EPS geofoam has been utilized globally in projects such as roads, bridge approaches, embankments, levees, berms, foundations, and landscaping.
GeoFoam is engineered to support significant compressive loads while maintaining a density less than 1% of conventional earth materials. It can be tailored to meet diverse geotechnical specifications, with typical densities ranging from 11 kg/m³ (0.7 pcf) to 40 kg/m³ (2.5 pcf), offering a variety of compressive resistance properties.
